each second, a six figure character string is generated on the web site www.ostarhild.eu . these can be read as HASHTAG POEMS. from its start-off on 01.10.2014, THE SECONDS MACHINE runs until 13.04.2015 for the duration of 194 days, which equates to the 16 777 216 hex-codes of the rgb color space. after its opening at KW institute of contemporary art, on 26.02.2015, a 3 week time slot is dedicated to THE SECONDS MACHINE at BERLIN WEEKLY, showing the hex-codes and the simultaneously generated colors as a projection. it is a time based color chart with extremly soft color gradients.
