Blockchain Huestate

“Blockchain Huestate” is an image generator supplied by the continuous data production of the Bitcoin blockchain. “Blockchain Huestate” stands for Block Chain Hue State and means the color state of the blockchain. Every minute its algorithm calls up project-relevant data from the blockchain.info website, and saves it on a dedicated server. The last 6 characters of each new hash are interpreted as hexadecimal color value and define a single color field. “Blockchain Huestate” exhibits 3 different images. Image #1 consists of a single color field, Image #2 of 144 color fields and Image #3 of 2,016 color color fields.

The individual color of Image #1 is determined by the latest hash of the blockchain. It changes approximately every 10 minutes, 24/7. The accompanying information about the image is exhibited in a complementary color.

Images #2 and #3 save the last 144 and 2,016 generated color fields respectively, exhibiting them as rectangles of equal dimensions. When a new hash is published, the color of Image #1 changes. This alters the configurations of Images #2 & #3, placing the latest addition in the top left corner and shifting to the right the order of the previous color rectangles.

These ephemeral images are created continuously, consisting of ever-new color combinations. Although their nature is temporary, the generated color material is being recorded on a server since April 2020. With continuous production of approximately 52,560 hashs per year and 16, 777, 216 colors in the RGB color space, it is very unlikely that the colors will repeat. The generated images are shown on monitors or as projections.
